Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Pierre Mignon Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Brut is a refined expression that celebrates Chardonnay. Produced using the Traditional Method, it displays a straw yellow colour enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The aromatic profile reveals lively citrus notes, delicate floral hints and touches of white fruit. On the palate, it expresses vibrant citrus energy, balanced by hints of ripe fruit and gingerbread. The sip stands out for its dry freshness, finishing with an elegant and pleasantly persistent aftertaste.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in France, in the heart of the Champagne region. The grapes come from the renowned Côte des Blancs, with a careful selection from the villages of Chouilly and Cramant. The area is characterised by a deep chalky subsoil of limestone origin, which gives the wine a distinctive mineral tension and marked acidity. In this ideal soil and climate context, Chardonnay achieves absolute aromatic precision. The result is an authentic territorial interpretation, characterised by a dry and balanced style that combines structural rigour with great freshness.
How it is produced
The creation of this cuvée begins with a rigorous manual selection of the bunches and gentle pressing. The first maturation takes place in barrels for eighteen months, ensuring a solid base and complexity. Subsequently, the secondary fermentation in the bottle follows the principles of the Traditional Method, with ageing on the lees lasting from thirty-six to forty-eight months. This long rest enriches the wine with a creamy texture and remarkable depth. The final dosage in Brut style defines a structured balance, preserving the natural liveliness of the sip, which is deep, dry and energetic.
History and Curiosities
Since 1892, the Pierre Mignon family has passed down a centuries-old craft in Le Breuil, in the Marne Valley. This exceptional cuvée embodies the authentic excellence of the Maison and is created from fine Chardonnay Grand Cru grapes grown on the distinctive chalky soils of Chouilly and Cramant, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs. To achieve an unrivalled structure, the wine is expertly matured for five years, acquiring a creamy elegance thanks to a patient ageing of 36-48 months on the lees in the bottle, which enhances every aromatic nuance.
