Description

What kind of wine is it

Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque Brut is a Champagne created from a refined blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. It displays a pale golden yellow colour with greenish highlights, animated by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, there are hints of citrus, white peach, pear and grapefruit, intertwined with notes of pineapple, white flowers, marzipan and sweet spices. On the palate, it is distinctly mineral, rounded and silky, with a long-lasting finish. It is ideal paired with shellfish, fine fish and dishes with bold flavours such as Catalan-style lobster.

Where does it come from

This wine is produced in France, in Épernay, the historic home where Perrier Jouët grows and selects the finest grapes for its wines. The Champagne faithfully expresses its region of origin, offering a sip that skilfully balances vibrancy and structural freshness. Thanks to the specific soil and climate characteristics of the area and constant agronomic care, this label possesses the qualities necessary for remarkable longevity, ensuring a harmonious and consistent evolution over time.

How is it produced

Production strictly follows the principles of the Traditional Method, starting with a harvest carried out to preserve the natural acidity of the grapes. The wine then undergoes ageing for about five years in the cellars, promoting maximum aromatic integration. The addition of a moderate Brut dosage consolidates a dry and harmonious taste. To enhance its finesse and silky character, it is recommended to serve at a temperature between 6 and 8°C.

History and Curiosities

Founded in Épernay in 1811, the prestigious Maison Perrier-Jouët celebrates excellence with its renowned creation, a true icon of Champagne. The exclusive 2016 vintage was born from an early harvest at the end of August, designed to enhance a lively freshness. Thanks to five years of ageing and a meticulous traditional method, the sublime blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes achieves an unparalleled balance. Characterised by a Brut dosage and a fine and persistent perlage, this masterpiece guarantees extraordinary longevity.
