Description
What kind of wine it is
Romeo & Juliet Passione Sentimento Rosso di Pasqua is an enveloping red wine, created from a blend of Merlot, Corvina and Croatina grapes. In the glass, it stands out for its intense ruby red colour, a prelude to a complex bouquet with notes of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and hints of vanilla derived from ageing in wood. On the palate, it is balanced and rounded, with velvety tannins leading to a persistent finish, enhanced by elegant hints of dried fruit.
Where it comes from
This expression from Veneto originates in the eastern area of Valpolicella. The project is a tribute to the city of Verona and celebrates Pasqua's connection with its homeland. This geographical closeness is reflected in a remarkable aromatic concentration and a smooth texture. The harmony between the residual sugar and the total acidity enhances the fruit, making the wine perfect to accompany roasts, braised meats and hearty first courses.
How it is produced
Production begins with manual harvesting in mid-September. The bunches are left to rest in the fruit loft in wooden crates where, thanks to humidity control, they undergo a partial drying to naturally concentrate sugars and aromas. The different varieties ferment separately in steel to respect the maturation times of each. Finally, after blending, the wine matures for six months in oak barrels, a technique that refines its structure and enhances its sophisticated spicy component.
History and Curiosities
Created as a tribute to the love for Verona, this captivating Veneto IGT is the exciting forerunner of the Romeo & Juliet Passione Sentimento project, crafted by Pasqua Vigneti e Cantine. Its unique style celebrates the local winemaking tradition through meticulous drying of the grapes in the fruit loft, which gently concentrates the aromas of Corvina, Croatina and Merlot grapes. Enhanced by the historic photograph by Giò Martorana dedicated to Juliet's courtyard, the bottle offers an enveloping sip with velvety tannins, providing an unforgettable tasting experience.
