Description

What kind of wine is it

Parusso Barolo Perarmando is a still red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes. It appears a garnet red in the glass and offers a rich aromatic profile, characterised by distinct notes of spices and preserves. On the palate, it reveals a balanced structure, supported by ripe tannins that lead the sip towards a long aromatic persistence. This elegant expression pairs ideally with roasted red meats, truffle-based dishes, game, and mature cheeses.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from the municipality of Castiglione Falletto, specifically from the historic Mariondino vineyard. This renowned plot is situated at around 290 metres above sea level, with an optimal east and south-east exposure. The vines sink their roots into a marly sandstone soil, a type of terrain that gives the Nebbiolo a distinct identity and a pronounced territorial character. These pedoclimatic conditions favour the optimal development of the plants, ensuring the wine's complexity and remarkable longevity.

How is it produced

The vinification process, overseen by Parusso, begins with careful management of the extraction phase through strict temperature control and maceration times. Maturation then takes place in small oak barrels for twenty-four months, encouraging the integration of the wine's organoleptic profile. The process concludes with a patient bottle ageing of forty-two months at a constant temperature, a fundamental step in defining the finesse and elegance of this Barolo.

History and Curiosities

Created to celebrate the legacy of Armando Parusso, whose company was founded in 1985, Barolo DOCG Perarmando captures the essence of Nebbiolo grown in the renowned Mariondino vineyard. Originating from the precious marl sandstone soil of Castiglione Falletto, this wine, overseen by oenologist Marco Parusso, undergoes a slow maturation in oak barrels and in bottle. This artisanal dedication ensures flawless evolution with a longevity of up to 15 years. The excellence of the 2022 vintage is further confirmed by 94 points from Decanter.
