Description
What kind of wine it is
Orlando Abrigo Barbaresco Meruzzano is a red wine from Piedmont made from Nebbiolo grapes, a true expression of its territory. The profile is dry and balanced, characterised by fine and noble tannins even in its youth. This elegant structure makes it ideal for pairing with flavourful dishes, particularly enhancing recipes based on game and mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from the Meruzzano vineyard, located in the municipality of Treiso, one of the largest geographical designations of Barbaresco. The rows benefit from a favourable southern exposure and are cultivated according to the principles of organic and sustainable agriculture. The altitude, between 380 and 400 metres above sea level, helps to maintain aromatic freshness and optimal tannic definition of the bunches.
How it is produced
In the winery, the process begins with a gentle pressing, followed by maceration in contact with the skins for 20-25 days in temperature-controlled vats. Afterwards, the wine rests in French oak barrels for a period of 10-15 months, using a proportion of new wood to enrich the texture without overpowering the varietal identity. The process concludes with bottle ageing for 4-6 months, necessary to achieve the final sensory balance.
