Description
What kind of wine it is
Tre Rocche by Nicolucci is a still red wine, Romagna Sangiovese Superiore, which embodies the essence of the Sangiovese grape variety in Emilia-Romagna. To the eye, it displays a garnet red colour with violet highlights. The fragrant bouquet reveals notes of cherry, pomegranate and violet, enriched by subtle spicy and herbal nuances. On the palate, it is dry, rounded and velvety, supported by harmonious tannins and a pleasant freshness. Thanks to its balanced structure, it is perfect for accompanying Romagna cuisine, red meats, mature cheeses or flavourful fish soups.
Where it comes from
This Romagna Sangiovese Superiore originates in Emilia-Romagna, from the hillside vineyards of Predappio situated at over three hundred metres above sea level. The vines grow on clay-limestone soils rich in minerals, an ideal condition to ensure a clear aromatic definition. In this area, the cultivation of a local clone allows for an impeccable balance between fruit ripeness and the elegance of the tannic texture. Nicolucci's commitment results in a clear territorial identity, giving rise to a wine with measured structure, depth and always faithful to the integrity of the fruit.
How it is produced
Vinification follows the traditional red method. Subsequently, the wine matures for six months in large oak barrels, a crucial step to integrate its structure and enrich it with delicate spicy notes, always respecting the nature of the fruit. A further period of bottle ageing stabilises the flavour profile. The choice not to filter preserves the expressive integrity of the grape variety. To fully appreciate the balance between freshness and smoothness, it is recommended to decant for about an hour, serving the wine at an ideal temperature between eighteen and twenty degrees.
