Description
What kind of wine it is
Mutiliana Ecce Drago is a still red wine with a bright ruby colour, an authentic expression of the Pinot Noir grape variety. On the nose, it offers clear aromas of red fruits enhanced by delicate balsamic nuances, creating a well-balanced aromatic bouquet. On the palate, it reveals marked freshness and a pleasant savoury note, making it ideal to pair with meat dishes and cheeses.
Where it comes from
This red wine originates in Emilia-Romagna, in the area of Forlì, faithfully reflecting the character of the Apennine territory. The Mutiliana vineyards stretch along the three valleys of Acerata, Tramazzo and Ibola, rising from Modigliana towards the Apennines. This particular geographical location defines the wine’s hilly origin and its distinctive, vibrant profile.
How it is produced
The production process begins with a careful selection of the grape bunches, followed by long macerations aimed at extracting the aromatic components in a balanced way. The choice to carry out ageing in concrete allows the vibrant freshness and typical savouriness of the fruit to be preserved intact. This respectful approach to the raw material ensures an extremely clean, consistent and dynamic wine.
History and Curiosities
Born from the passion of Giorgio Melandri, Ecce Drago di Mutiliana is a pure Pinot Nero Forlì IGT that embodies the essence of the Apennines. Overseen by oenologist Francesco Bordini, this elegant wine is created through lengthy macerations and an exclusive cement ageing process that enhances the fragrant aromas of red fruits and delicate balsamic notes. On the palate, it is fresh and dynamic, with a lively savouriness that harmoniously accompanies meat dishes, flavourful pork courses and cheeses, inviting you most pleasantly to a second sip.
