Description
What kind of wine it is
The Trento Blanc de Blancs Brut Nature by Moser is a Traditional Method sparkling wine with a controlled designation of origin from Trentino-Alto Adige, which expresses Chardonnay in its purest essence. Free from sugar dosage, it displays an intense straw yellow colour, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. The long maturation imparts great fragrance on the nose, with prominent notes of toasted bread and butter, combined with hints of fresh almond and citrus nuances on a pronounced mineral background. On the palate, it is dry, savoury and creamy, with a vibrant freshness that leads the sip towards a satisfying almondy finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in the renowned areas of Maso Warth and the Cembra Valley, in Trentino. At Maso Warth, the vines thrive in a natural amphitheatre overlooking the city of Trento at 350 metres above sea level, characterised by limestone soils that impart notable tension to the wine. In the Cembra Valley, the pergola-trained vineyards are situated between 500 and 650 metres on clay and porphyry soils, essential for giving the wine its marked savouriness. These mountain plots, with vines aged between 15 and 30 years, reflect Moser's commitment to enhancing the pure expression of the terroir.
How it is produced
The process begins with manual harvesting and gentle pressing of the bunches, procedures aimed at extracting only the free-run must. The first fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel to preserve aromatic clarity. This is followed by the prise de mousse according to the strict rules of the Traditional Method and a prolonged 60-month maturation on selected lees. This slow evolution enriches the structure of the sparkling wine, preserving the clean and vertical style of an outstanding Brut Nature.
History and Curiosities
The Moser winery, founded in 1979 by Diego and Francesco, has its roots in the rural traditions of the Cembra Valley. This Trentodoc comes from 15- to 30-year-old vineyards located at Maso Warth and in the Cembra Valley. It is an exclusive production of only 6,000 bottles, awarded with 3 red glasses by Gambero Rosso. The wine is enhanced by an exceptional 60-month ageing on the lees in the bottle.
