Description
What kind of wine it is
Lugana Montresor is a white wine with controlled designation of origin from Veneto, made from Turbiana grapes. Fermented in stainless steel and matured in wooden barrels, it presents a full and rounded profile, characterised by floral notes, wild herbs, ripe apple and tropical fruit. Elegant and savoury, it stands out for its balanced acidity and minerality, pairing beautifully with starters, soups, lake fish and white meats.
Where it comes from
This wine comes from the moraine hills south of Lake Garda, a wine-growing area characterised by limestone soils. This soil composition gives the wine its typical mineral savouriness. The microclimate of the lake basin contributes to optimal grape development, allowing Lugana to express a clear territorial identity with a consistent profile.
How it is produced
The winemaking process begins with the gentle pressing of the grapes. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks for about 15 days. The process concludes with a prolonged maturation on the lees in wooden barrels. Contact with the fine lees enriches the structure, giving softness and volume on the palate without overshadowing the vibrant underlying acidity. To best appreciate it, it is recommended to serve at a temperature between 8 and 10°C.
