Description
What kind of wine is it
Flamingo Franciacorta Rosé Brut by Monte Rossa is a full-bodied and structured rosé sparkling wine. Created from a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, it displays a fine and delicate perlage that enhances its fruity progression. Produced strictly according to the Traditional Method, it involves separate vinification of the crus and fermentation carried out in steel and barrels. This meticulous winemaking process delivers a long, clean and highly satisfying finish.
Where does it come from
It originates in Lombardy, in the renowned Franciacorta area, from grapes grown on the Brescia hills. The morainic-glacial soils, enriched with sand and clay, give the glass excellent flavour precision and aromatic continuity. The vines are managed using the cordon-trained and Guyot methods to maintain the high quality of the yields. The Monte Rossa winery is dedicated exclusively to these sparkling wines, reflecting the vocation of the region in every sip.
How is it produced
Manual harvesting is followed by swift processing to preserve the integrity of the aromas. After gentle pressing, the musts ferment separately in steel vats and barrels. The blending includes the use of reserve wines and precedes the prise de mousse typical of the Traditional Method. The ageing on the lees for over twenty-four months shapes a profile marked by redcurrant jam, rose petals and raspberry, making it perfect to pair with seafood dishes.
History and Curiosities
The Flamingo Franciacorta Rosé Brut Magnum represents the refined evolution of the historic P.R. Rosé from the Monte Rossa winery, founded in Bornato in 1972. Inspired by the vibrant liveliness of Las Vegas nights, this Traditional Method sparkling wine, in the luxurious 1.5-litre format, elegantly enhances every festive occasion. Produced in limited quantities, it combines the freshness of Chardonnay with the structure of Pinot Noir, maturing for over 24 months on the lees. A true gem, awarded by the Bibenda guide, capable of enchanting the palate with its fine and delicate perlage.
