Description
What kind of wine it is
Mirafiore Barolo Parafada is an organic red wine from Piedmont, made from Nebbiolo grapes, with a rigorous and structured character. This Barolo reflects the soul of its terroir with an enveloping sensory profile, ideal for long ageing. On the nose, it offers clear notes of wild strawberry and small red fruits, enriched by spicy nuances of black pepper. The palate is vibrant, supported by a dense and balanced tannic structure that leads to a long, persistent finish, making it an ideal accompaniment for meat dishes and selections of mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
The wine originates from the renowned Parafada geographical mention in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. The vineyards cultivated by Mirafiore benefit from a south-west and south-east exposure and altitudes ideal for full ripening. The soils, characterised by a balanced composition of sand, silt and clay, give the wine a distinctive tension, solid structure and high aromatic definition. The estate tends these historic vines following the principles of organic sustainability, enhancing the natural expressions of the rural landscape.
How it is produced
The production process is distinguished by whole cluster fermentation in wooden vats, where carefully alternated layers of destemmed grapes and intact bunches are used. Targeted and gentle punch-downs keep the cap moist without breaking the berries. After static decantation, malolactic fermentation takes place in the same vats. The subsequent slow maturation continues in wooden barrels for about two years and is perfected with ageing in ceramic amphorae before bottling. This meticulous process enriches the organoleptic profile, ensuring a long persistence.

Since 1878, Casa E. Di Mirafiore has been overlooking this UNESCO world heritage landscape with his estates in Barolo and Serralunga, the heart of one of the world's most famous wines: Barolo. This estate is synonymous with quality, as it is home to two of the best Cru vineyards in the Langhe: Lazzarito (on one of Serralunga d'Alba's most magnificent slopes) and Paiagallo.
In this town, Serralunga d'Alba, tradition is never forgotten. Even today, the style of Casa E. Mirafiore is defined by fermentation in concrete tanks and enormous Slavonian oak barrels for ageing. Read more
