Description
What kind of wine is it
Libiamo Muscat Gisborne is an expressive skin-contact wine from New Zealand, crafted by Millton Vineyards. This artisanal interpretation enhances the aromatic character of the Moscato Bianco grapes. On the nose, it offers an intense profile, where hints of cinnamon precede a dynamic sip. The palate is dominated by fruity aromas and citrus notes, balanced by a soft texture reminiscent of marshmallow. The absence of filtration preserves its authenticity.
Where does it come from
The wine's roots lie in the Gisborne region, in Manutuke, New Zealand. The grapes come from the Riverpoint vineyard, near the Opou, Te Arai, and Clos de Ste. Anne plots. Millton Vineyards practises strict biodynamic viticulture without irrigation, excluding chemicals. This method respects the ecosystem and ensures perfect fruit purity at the time of hand harvesting.
How is it produced
The process follows natural rhythms, beginning with a manual harvest. In the winery, the process involves an extended skin fermentation lasting one hundred and nineteen days. This technique defines the structure and enhances aromatic extraction. Ageing continues in line with a vegan philosophy, with no fining or filtration. This approach ensures excellent ageing potential, estimated between five and ten years.
History and Curiosities
Millton Vineyards celebrates New Zealand's biodynamic viticulture with this rare skin-contact wine. The Libiamo Muscat Gisborne 2020 is made from hand-picked grapes from the Riverpoint vineyard, enhanced by a 119-day skin fermentation. This artisanal care results in a pure, vegan and unfiltered Moscato Bianco, which envelops the palate with citrus notes and soft marshmallow sensations, preceded by hints of cinnamon.
