Description
What kind of wine it is
The Meursault-Perrières Premier Cru by Michel Bouzereau is a still white wine that embodies the essence of Meursault, in Burgundy. Made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes, it stands out for its bright straw-yellow colour. On the nose, it reveals fruity notes combined with a pronounced mineral character, offering a harmonious and balanced sip. Thanks to its solid structure, it is ideal for long ageing in the cellar, capable of maturing for twelve to fifteen years.
Where it comes from
This wine originates from Meursault-Perrières, in the heart of Burgundy's wine region. The vineyard, covering about half a hectare, is home to historic vines planted between 1939 and 2005. The roots draw nourishment from a clay-limestone soil that is very stony and rich in marl, essential elements for imparting a precise taste texture and a marked savouriness. The Premier Cru designation highlights the prestige of this area, renowned for its white wines of great depth and character.
How it is produced
After the harvest, the Chardonnay undergoes slow maturation in oak barrels for a period of sixteen to eighteen months, using a portion of new wood to ensure proper integration of the aromas. Bottled directly at the estate, it is best enjoyed when served between twelve and fourteen degrees. Its elegance makes it perfect for a harmonious pairing with delicate starters, sushi, flavourful shellfish, fish dishes and soft cheeses.

Jean-Baptiste, his son, joined him on the estate twenty years later: he learned the trade at his side for ten years and together they acquired some prestigious plots. In 1999, Michel left Jean-Baptiste to manage the family estate of 10.5 hectares with the same passion. In 2008, always anxious to improve the quality of the wines, he decided to build a new structure and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire estate is located at 5, rue Robert Thénard, still in the centre of the village of Meursault.
