Description

What kind of wine is it

Bourgogne Cote d’Or Chardonnay Blanc is an organic white wine crafted by Michel Bouzereau. Produced from vines over forty years old, this wine perfectly expresses the elegance of Chardonnay. It displays a bright straw yellow colour, introducing a bouquet of white flowers, apple, anise and citrus peel, supported by a clear mineral tension. On the palate, it is fresh and energetic, with a balanced structure that leads to a savoury and long-lasting finish.

Where does it come from

The grapes come from vineyards located in the heart of the Côte d’Or, in Burgundy. The plots stretch between the area of Magny and the renowned territories of Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet. Here, the roots sink into clay-limestone soils, a geological matrix that gives the wine extraordinary expressive precision. This unique terroir allows for a natural aromatic concentration combined with a lively and smooth taste dynamic.

How is it produced

The vinification aims to preserve the integrity of the organic raw material. Ageing takes place for twelve months in oak barrels, using a small proportion of new wood to enrich the structural complexity without overpowering the fruit. This is followed by a two-month rest in neutral vats, essential for maintaining freshness and stabilising the aromatic profile. The result is a highly elegant white, ready to drink but with an ageing potential of around five or six years.

From this winery
The Bouzereau family has been cultivating vines in Meursault for seven generations. As the years went by and thanks to his work, Michel expanded the vineyard inherited from his father.

Jean-Baptiste, his son, joined him on the estate twenty years later: he learned the trade at his side for ten years and together they acquired some prestigious plots. In 1999, Michel left Jean-Baptiste to manage the family estate of 10.5 hectares with the same passion. In 2008, always anxious to improve the quality of the wines, he decided to build a new structure and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire estate is located at 5, rue Robert Thénard, still in the centre of the village of Meursault.
