Description
What kind of wine is it
Beaune 1er Cru Les Vignes Franches by Michel Bouzereau is an elegant organic red wine, a pure and authentic expression of Pinot Noir. It displays a bright ruby red colour, which anticipates a refined aromatic profile. On the nose, intense notes of ripe cherry, raspberry and pomegranate emerge, enriched by delicate floral hints of peony and a subtle peppery nuance. On the palate, it reveals a pleasant substance combined with vibrant freshness, supported by a velvety tannin that leads to a long and harmonious finish.
Where does it come from
This wine is produced in France, in the heart of Burgundy, from a small plot located in the Beaune area. Its inclusion in the prestigious Beaune 1er Cru classification identifies a context of exceptional vocation, characterised by limestone soils and red clay-based earth. This particular geological formation profoundly influences the character of the grapes, giving the glass an ideal balance between structure and dynamism, enhancing the identity of its terroir of origin.
How is it produced
After vinification, the wine matures for a year in barrels, with the use of new wood aimed at integrating the structure while preserving the clarity of the aromas. A further four months of ageing in tank definitively stabilises the flavour profile before bottling. Ideal when paired with lamb dishes and veal, it also goes excellently with cured meats and mature cheeses. To best appreciate its evolution, it is recommended to decant for one hour and serve at a temperature of 16-17 °C.

Jean-Baptiste, his son, joined him on the estate twenty years later: he learned the trade at his side for ten years and together they acquired some prestigious plots. In 1999, Michel left Jean-Baptiste to manage the family estate of 10.5 hectares with the same passion. In 2008, always anxious to improve the quality of the wines, he decided to build a new structure and, since the 2009 harvest, the entire estate is located at 5, rue Robert Thénard, still in the centre of the village of Meursault.
