Description
What kind of wine it is
Massolino's Moscato d’Asti is a sweet, aromatic white wine, characterised by a pleasant effervescence. With a straw yellow colour and greenish highlights, it stands out for its fine and persistent perlage. The bouquet is fresh and fragrant, dominated by lively fruity notes and hints of sage. On the palate, it is broad and enveloping, with well-balanced sweetness and a persistent finish. Perfect for pairing with traditional pastries, this wine also creates an interesting contrast when matched with mature cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Piedmont, in the heart of the Langhe, in the municipality of Serralunga d’Alba. The Moscato Bianco vineyards are situated between 300 and 360 metres above sea level, where they benefit from an ideal microclimate for enhancing the aromatic profile. The Guyot training system and the calcareous soils ensure excellent quality of the raw material. The rows, cultivated at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare, allow for low yields that faithfully reflect the identity of the territory.
How it is produced
The production process begins with careful manual harvesting, usually carried out in the second half of September. After gentle pressing, the must is clarified and kept at low temperatures to prevent spontaneous fermentation. The sparkling process takes place in stainless steel autoclaves at a controlled temperature, a crucial step to preserve the aromatic integrity of the grape variety. Fermentation is then halted by chilling, and the wine undergoes sterile microfiltration and isobaric bottling to maintain its natural liveliness intact.
History and Curiosities
Produced by a historic family-run company founded in 1896, Massolino’s Moscato d’Asti DOCG embodies the authentic tradition of the Langhe. Made from hand-picked grapes and vinified entirely in its region of origin, this international classic captivates with a fresh and aromatic profile, enriched by unmistakable notes of sage. Thanks to the perfect balance of its sweetness and a delicate perlage, this wine, acclaimed by critics, is the ideal pairing to enhance traditional pastries, without ever becoming cloying.

With tenacity and passion, we have been making wine since 1896.
Azienda Agricola Massolino Vigna Rionda is the dream of our great-grandfather Giovanni, who founded the estate in 1896. In those days, it was a traditional Langa farm, producing fruit and vegetables, raising livestock and making wine.
Our family is firmly at the helm of the historic estate that inhaled the vibrant air full of change of the late 19th century and navigated the tides of the first half of the 20th century. Today, we face the new challenges of the 21st century, in the capable hands of the third and fourth generations.
We are Massolino Vigna Rionda and we are writing a legacy with our wines. Read more
