Description
What kind of wine it is
Monsieur Martis Rosé Brut Riserva by Maso Martis is an outstanding organic sparkling wine with Trento designation, from Trentino-Alto Adige, which enhances the identity of Pinot Meunier. Crafted according to the strict standards of the Traditional Method, this rosé stands out for its harmonious and precise sensory profile. In the glass, it reveals fine and persistent bubbles, offering a fresh sip characterised by pronounced savouriness. The structure, slender yet well-defined, leads to a complex and elegant finish.
Where it comes from
The grapes ripen in Martignano, in Trentino-Alto Adige, on the hills overlooking Trento at the foot of Monte Calisio. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 450 metres, where the ideal microclimate gives the bunches remarkable expressive tension. The estate adopts strict organic viticulture, favouring short pruning and organic fertilisation to safeguard the natural balance. These soil and climate conditions shape the soul of the wine, enhancing its lively acidity and clear saline nuances.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous manual harvesting and careful selection of the bunches. Gentle pressing involves a brief contact of the must with the skins, essential to achieve the delicate coppery hue and enrich the bouquet. After fermentation in steel, the prise de mousse takes place using the Traditional Method, followed by a long ageing on the lees for forty-eight months, remuage and disgorgement. On the nose, it releases aromas of crisp red fruits, enhanced by spicy and smoky notes, introducing a savoury and persistent palate.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1990, Maso Martis celebrates its thirtieth anniversary with Monsieur Martis, an elegant Trentodoc Riserva made exclusively from Pinot Meunier grapes. The Stelzer family has been cultivating this variety organically since the 1980s; it is a rare grape in Trentino, whose French name refers to the typical floury appearance of its leaves. Under the guidance of oenologist Matteo Ferrari, this prestigious sparkling wine matures for 48 months on the lees, transforming a historic legacy into a vibrant and complex sip.

Ever since the beginning we dedicated our activity almost exclusively to the art of producing classic method sparkling wines: a real challenge to face at that time, as this type of product from Trentino still had not achieved the reputation of high quality as it has today with the brand TRENTODOC.
We live in a house located in the heart of our vineyards and therefore for us the transition to organic viticulture was the natural consequence of our way of life that focuses on life quality.
Maso Martis is situated in Martignano at the foothill of Mount Calisio (also called Argentario) above Trento, 450 m above sea level: a mountain terrain that was cultivated as early as the end of the 800, and is well exposed and caressed by the mountain breeze. Read more
