Description
What kind of wine it is
Marqués de Cáceres Crianza is a still red wine from Rioja, created from a harmonious blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha and Graciano. This vegan wine displays an intense ruby colour, offering a bouquet that combines ripe red fruits with delicate notes of vanilla, cocoa and sweet spices. On the palate, it reveals a balanced structure, supported by well-integrated acidity and silky tannins. Its long, fruity finish makes it the ideal accompaniment for stews, Iberian cured meats and vegetarian dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes for this red come from the municipality of Cenicero, with selected plots in the Rioja Alta area. The terroir is characterised by clay and limestone soils, enriched in some areas by an iron-rich subsoil, which are essential in defining the structure and elegance of the tannic texture. The influence of a mild Atlantic climate, with well-defined seasons, encourages optimal vine development, ensuring a profile that balances the natural ripeness of the fruit with a vibrant freshness.
How it is produced
Production begins with meticulous hand harvesting, followed by destemming. Fermentation at a controlled temperature preserves the aromas, supported by a twenty-day maceration on the skins. After malolactic fermentation in stainless steel, the wine matures for twelve months in French and American oak barrels, with racking every six months to aid its evolution. The process concludes with a further year of final ageing before release, helping to harmonise the spicy notes.
