Description

What kind of wine it is

Marchesi Migliorati Pecorino is an organic white wine that purely expresses the identity of the eponymous native grape variety. Originating from the Terre d’Abruzzo area, it stands out for its clear and elegant aromatic profile. On the nose, it offers a bouquet featuring lively notes of citrus and yellow flowers, enriched by subtle spicy hints. On the palate, it delivers a persistent sip, characterised by a pronounced mineral texture that supports its freshness and structural balance.

Where it comes from

This white wine comes from mid-hill vineyards, situated at around three hundred metres above sea level with a favourable south-east exposure. The vines grow on clay soils, which are essential for imparting consistency and depth of flavour. The Marchesi Migliorati winery is committed to the restoration of abandoned vineyards, enhancing plots with high potential to create limited and carefully crafted productions. The espalier training system ensures optimal ripening of the Pecorino grapes, faithfully reflecting the character of the region.

How it is produced

Vinification involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks for about ten days, carried out to allow the natural evolution of the musts. The wine then matures in steel for at least three months, thus preserving the absolute clarity of its aromas and the precision of its flavour. Versatile and dynamic, it is ideal for accompanying fish dishes and shellfish. Thanks to its harmony, it also pairs perfectly with a selection of starters and cheeses.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 2015, the company Marchesi Migliorati breathes new life into abandoned Abruzzo vineyards to create limited productions of excellence. This fascinating organic Pecorino Terre d’Abruzzo IGT showcases a native grape variety, grown on clay soils at an altitude of 300 metres. Overseen by oenologist Enrico Perinetti, the winemaking process is characterised by a ten-day fermentation at uncontrolled temperature and maturation in steel for at least three months. In this way, a still white wine is created, capable of expressing the most authentic soul of the region.
