Description
What kind of wine it is
The Ligurian Vermentino by Lunae is a still white wine with a strong personality, characterised by an enveloping and savoury structure. On the nose, it reveals an intriguing aromatic profile, where clear scents of peach and apricot intertwine, enriched by notes of vanilla, acacia flowers and hints of Mediterranean scrub. The palate develops with intensity, supported by a lively acidity that brings balance to the drink. The experience concludes with a long almondy finish, enhanced by mineral notes and subtle smoky tones. It pairs harmoniously with shellfish, seafood dishes and soft cheeses.
Where it comes from
The Vermentino grapes are grown in the renowned Colli di Luni, in a prime area located between the coast and the hills of Castelnuovo Magra. The bunches are carefully selected from two historic vineyards of the estate, where ideal soil and climate conditions favour optimal ripening. This clear territorial identity is directly reflected in the wine's complex aromatic profile and pronounced saline character. The area's microclimate allows for a white wine that expresses the authentic character of the Ligurian territory with precision and intensity.
How it is produced
The winemaking process enhances the qualities of the Vermentino grape through meticulous methods. The process begins with a brief period of cold maceration on the skins, essential for extracting the primary aromatic components. The subsequent fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, preserving the clarity of the aromas. The wine then matures through a prolonged ageing in large oak barrels for eighteen months, gaining greater complexity and spicy nuances. A final resting period of a further eighteen months ensures perfect harmony of flavour before tasting.
History and Curiosities
Produced in only 2,600 bottles, Vermentino Numero Chiuso by Lunae Bosoni represents the pinnacle of Ligurian viticulture. Made exclusively in the finest vintages, it is born from a rigorous selection of grapes in the historic vineyards between the Colli di Luni and Castelnuovo Magra. The meticulous cold maceration on the skins and the 18-month rest in large oak barrels, followed by bottle ageing, give this wine an extraordinary aromatic complexity, enhanced by elegant notes of exotic fruit, oriental spices and enveloping mineral hints.

Cantine Lunae deepen their roots in the millenary hystory of this land and people, whose great vine-growing and wine-making tradition have inherited. Etruscans, or perhaps Ligures and then Romans, were the first to grow vineyards in the surroundings of the beautiful Luni, the "Moon City".
These lands have given birth to our vineyards, to our passion, to our wine!
