Description
What type of wine it is
Lucente from Tenuta Luce is a still red wine with the Tuscany Typical Geographical Indication (IGT), born from a harmonious blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. On the nose, it expresses aromas of wild berries, jam, tobacco and spices, while on the palate it reveals an enveloping structure with silky tannins balanced by a pleasant freshness. Aged for twelve months in wooden barrels after fermentation in steel, it offers a balanced sip that fades into an elegant and persistent toasted finish.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in Montalcino, from the vineyards of Tenuta Luce. The meeting between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi gave life to a project that enhances the natural vocation of the soil through meticulous agronomic management, aimed at highlighting the fruity richness of the grapes. The deep connection between the terroir and production expertise gives this red wine a distinct gastronomic versatility. Thanks to its structured body, it pairs masterfully with red meats and game, and is also perfect with savoury first courses and mature cheeses.
How it is produced
The harvest begins in September, with the picking of the Merlot followed by the Sangiovese, respecting the optimal ripening times for each grape variety. The winemaking process involves fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, followed by maceration on the skins for about twenty days, which is fundamental for colour extraction and defining the structure. At the end of the malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for twelve months in partially new wooden barrels. This resting period smooths the tannic texture and integrates elegant toasted notes, while preserving the fruit's vibrancy intact.
History and curious facts

From that meeting a wine was born, inspired by an ambitious project and linked to one of Tuscany's election territories for the production of outstanding wines. The project consisted in creating a wine in Montalcino that would go beyond the boundaries of tradition, without denying it, by drawing on the experience of two historical families in the world of wine.
The dream took shape in Tenuta Luce, a name that evokes the light of the Montalcino sun, which is the source of life and nourishment, which marks the passage of the seasons and gives rhythm to every agricultural activity.
Since then, Tenuta Luce has always honoured this vision, and the estate's flagship wine, Luce, has been joined by other exclusive wines, capable of transcending the boundaries of their own territory, earning unanimous acclaim internationally. Read more
