Description

What kind of wine it is

Lis Bianco is a still white wine, an authentic expression of Friuli Isonzo. The meeting of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon gives rise to a blend with a bright golden yellow colour. On the nose, notes of yellow flowers, pineapple, banana and pastry emerge. On the palate, it offers remarkable taste balance and a rich texture. The sip develops with precision and finishes with a very long persistence, ideal paired with shellfish and fish tartare.

Where it comes from

Lis Neris cultivates its grapes in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the San Lorenzo area. The vines grow on a gravelly limestone plateau at sixty metres altitude, a formation that favours excellent drainage and gives the wine a marked expressive precision. The plateau climate plays a key role, ensuring a slow ripening of the grapes trained using the Guyot system. These environmental factors enhance the direct link between the grape varieties and the territory.

How it is produced

Production is distinguished by a meticulous technical approach. Fermentation takes place in French oak barrels at a controlled temperature. The wine continues to mature in the same containers, resting on fine lees for eleven months. The practice of frequent bâtonnage enriches the body, giving the palate greater fullness. This rigorous ageing on the lees gives the glass pronounced longevity and an enveloping taste texture.

History and Curiosities

Founded in 1879 in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the Lis Neris winery produces the Lis Bianco 2019, a true jewel among its prestigious Reserves. This outstanding wine is the result of a rigorous selection in the San Lorenzo area, at the heart of the Friuli Isonzo DOC. Masterfully blending Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon, winemaker Alvaro Pecorari achieves the perfect balance between these noble grape varieties and the calcareous terroir of the plateau. Highly acclaimed by international critics, this label stands out for its extraordinary richness of flavour.
