Description

What kind of wine it is

Le Vigne di Zamò Tullio Zamò is a still white wine that expresses the pure character of Pinot Bianco. Produced in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, it offers a soft and fresh profile, enriched by pronounced savouriness and a finely spiced finish. The bouquet opens with aromas of acacia, jasmine and hay, followed by peach, lime zest and light mineral hints. Its vibrant balance is the result of careful vinification aimed at enhancing a clear aromatic precision through the skilful use of different maturation vessels.

Where it comes from

The wine is born in the locality of Rosazzo, within the municipality of Manzano, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The Le Vigne di Zamò winery cultivates its vineyards following principles of organic sustainability, enhancing the natural vocation of the hilly landscape. This microclimate ensures a defined territorial identity, evident in the marked savouriness and mineral notes detectable on the nose. In the glass, it reveals itself with a brilliant straw yellow colour with golden reflections, a perfect synthesis between the grape variety and its chosen land.

How it is produced

The process begins with direct pressing of the grapes to extract only the prized free-run must. Fermentation starts in stainless steel tanks and finishes in wood, maintaining clear aromas while also giving greater structural complexity. Ageing continues for ten months in oak barrels with weekly bâtonnage, a technique that gives deep texture to the palate before a necessary rest in the bottle. This artisanal journey delivers an intense and balanced sip, ideal for accompanying shellfish and lean fish, and also excellent alongside poultry, veal and cheeses.

History and Curiosities

Born in the terroir of Rosazzo, this organic Pinot Bianco by Le Vigne di Zamò expresses a deep connection with the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The winemaking process exclusively enhances the free-run must, skilfully combining the freshness of stainless steel with the complexity of ten months of ageing in oak barrels with meticulous bâtonnage. Under the guidance of oenologist Nicola Piccoli, the wine rests for three years before revealing its elegant structure: a masterpiece of family dedication, also celebrated by the prestigious 92 points from James Suckling.

Le Vigne di Zamò is located in Manzano, in the town of Rosazzo, in the province of Udine, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, a land of borders and European invasions that have led to a mixture of vineyards and varieties.

The company is fortunate to draw from three different terroirs that give the wines different and unique characters and personalities. The Zamò family has been cultivating the land for centuries: first the grandfather, then the father and finally the sons, all united under the same goal: cultivating the land and making wine as a sign of civilisation and respect for their origins and traditions,

In addition to great white wines, including Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company focuses on red wines to maintain the indigenous grape varieties and to pursue new projects and innovations. For years, the Zamò family has been conducting cultivation with sustainability-conscious methods, and in 2021 they obtained the first Certified Organic grape harvest.
