Description
What type of wine it is
Ribolla Gialla Le Vigne di Zamò is a still white wine from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with the Friuli Colli Orientali designation, which enhances this native grape variety through fermentation in stainless steel and ageing on the lees. It presents a straw-yellow colour with greenish highlights and offers a fresh bouquet on the nose: notes of lime blossom, hawthorn and orange blossom combine with white peach, sage and thyme. On the palate, it delivers a fresh and savoury sip, supported by a lively structure that leads into a clean finish. This elegant profile is ideal for pairing with shellfish and seafood starters.
Where it comes from
This Friulian white originates in the Friuli Colli Orientali. The vines grow on sunny hills between Rosazzo, Buttrio and Rocca Bernarda. Here, the poor, stony soils based on sandstone and limestone promote a high aromatic concentration. The microclimate is protected by the Alps and exposed to warm Adriatic breezes. By working these vineyards, Le Vigne di Zamò creates a pure expression of the territory that authentically tells the story of the local landscape.
How it is produced
Winemaking begins with a manual harvest. The Ribolla Gialla grapes are destemmed and pressed directly. The must undergoes temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the floral aromas. A partial malolactic fermentation follows, softening the taste texture while keeping the vibrancy intact. Production concludes with eight months of ageing on the lees in stainless steel, giving the wine greater volume and elegance.

The company is fortunate to draw from three different terroirs that give the wines different and unique characters and personalities. The Zamò family has been cultivating the land for centuries: first the grandfather, then the father and finally the sons, all united under the same goal: cultivating the land and making wine as a sign of civilisation and respect for their origins and traditions,
In addition to great white wines, including Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company focuses on red wines to maintain the indigenous grape varieties and to pursue new projects and innovations. For years, the Zamò family has been conducting cultivation with sustainability-conscious methods, and in 2021 they obtained the first Certified Organic grape harvest. Read more
