Description
What type of wine is it
Bianco Le Vigne di Zamò is a still white wine with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC) status that expresses the authenticity of Friuli through a harmonious blend of Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Riesling, Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Vinification and ageing on the lees take place in stainless steel to best preserve the varietal characteristics. On the palate, it reveals a fresh and velvety texture, supported by balanced acidity and a persistent, refreshing finish.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, in the heart of the Colli Orientali del Friuli, on the hills of the municipality of Manzano. Le Vigne di Zamò manages its vineyards across three distinct terroirs, whose geological and microclimatic peculiarities grant the grapes aromatic precision and structural complexity. The winery adopts rigorous active sustainability practices to protect the biodiversity of the local ecosystem. This meticulous attention allows for the enhancement of the characteristics of the Friulian terroir, offering an authentic, clean, and vibrant wine expression.
How it is produced
Production begins with a manual harvest carried out in mid-September. To preserve the aromatic profiles of the different varieties, the grapes undergo separate vinification in stainless steel at a controlled temperature. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out to keep the natural acidic freshness intact. The wine then rests for six months in contact with its own lees: this sur lie ageing gives the palate remarkable tactile depth and smoothness. After blending, the wine rests briefly in the bottle to reach perfect gustatory balance before being released for sale.
History and Fascinating Facts
Founded in 1978 by Tullio Zamò in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, Le Vigne di Zamò is a historic family-run winery that manages 43 hectares divided across three different terroirs in the municipality of Manzano. The winery made regional oenological history in 1988, securing the first 'Tre Bicchieri' (Three Glasses) award for the Friuli region with the famous Ronco dei Roseti. Under the guidance of oenologist Nicola Piccoli, the estate combines its ancient rural heritage with rigorous active sustainability, a journey that culminated in 2021 with the achievement of organic certification.

The company is fortunate to draw from three different terroirs that give the wines different and unique characters and personalities. The Zamò family has been cultivating the land for centuries: first the grandfather, then the father and finally the sons, all united under the same goal: cultivating the land and making wine as a sign of civilisation and respect for their origins and traditions,
In addition to great white wines, including Friulano and Ribolla Gialla, the company focuses on red wines to maintain the indigenous grape varieties and to pursue new projects and innovations. For years, the Zamò family has been conducting cultivation with sustainability-conscious methods, and in 2021 they obtained the first Certified Organic grape harvest. Read more
