Description
What kind of wine it is
The Franciacorta Nitens Brut Magnum from Le Marchesine embodies the essence of Franciacorta. Produced using the Traditional Method, it is created from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir. The palate features a fine perlage and a residual sugar content of nine grams per litre, which defines this brut sparkling wine. Its versatility at the table makes it ideal for pairing with raw seafood, oysters and fish dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes are grown in Lombardy, among the municipalities of Paderno Franciacorta, Rodengo Saiano, Erbusco and Cologne. The signature is that of Le Marchesine, a winery linked to the winemaking history of the Biatta family. The Guyot training system is set up with a high planting density to ensure the perfect expression of the fruit. Thanks to this rigour, the label has received important international recognition, including a ninety-point rating from Robert Parker.
How it is produced
The grapes are hand-harvested to preserve their integrity, then gently pressed. After cold clarification, fermentation takes place in stainless steel. Malolactic fermentation is inhibited to maintain the freshness of the must. The secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle, with twenty-four months' maturation on the lees. The wine reveals aromas of marzipan, broom, candied ginger and citron. On the palate, it offers a savoury and smooth sip, with a creamy finish enriched by hints of acacia and macadamia nuts.
History and Curiosities
The prestigious Franciacorta Nitens Brut from Le Marchesine celebrates the winemaking tradition of the Biatta family, which began in 1985. Since the very first vintage in 1990, this sparkling wine has stood out for its excellence, ensured by meticulous hand harvesting of the grapes. Its refined profile comes to life thanks to a slow 24-month maturation on the lees, the result of dedication rewarded with 90 points from Robert Parker. Offered in the generous Magnum format, it provides a tasting experience that combines prestige, elegance, and profound artisanal care.
