Description
What kind of wine it is
Io Sono Gaia (I am not Lucrezia) by Le Caniette is a still organic white wine, a pure expression of the Pecorino grape variety. Within the Offida Pecorino denomination, it stands out for its intense and complex profile. The colour is a deep straw yellow with bright highlights. On the nose, it reveals clear notes of tropical fruit and citrus, interwoven with delicate spices and subtle toasted hints. On the palate, a pronounced minerality emerges, combined with vibrant acidity, culminating in a savoury and persistent finish, ideal for pairing with fish dishes or young cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine is produced in Ripatransone, in the Contrada Canali, in the heart of the Marche region. The vineyards are located on terraces at four hundred metres above sea level. The vines grow on a loose mixed soil with a strong limestone component, responsible for the mineral note that characterises the tasting. The estate operates with full respect for environmental sustainability and biodiversity, adopting organic practices aimed at enhancing native grape varieties without altering their natural characteristics.
How it is produced
Production begins with manual harvesting and careful cold storage of the grapes. Gentle pressing takes place in the absence of oxygen to preserve the integrity of the must. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature for about thirty days using selected yeasts. Maturation continues for twelve months in new and second-use barrels, which impart an enveloping creaminess to the structure. The process concludes by delivering a wine of remarkable longevity, capable of evolving with great elegance over time.
