Description

Style of wine

Lanciani's Pecorino Versante Sud is an organic white wine with a Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) status that fully expresses the character of the Pecorino grape variety in the Offida area of the Marche region, vinified in concrete. It presents an intense straw-yellow colour enriched with golden highlights. The olfactory profile is broad and refined, dominated by notes of exotic fruit such as mango, banana and passion fruit. On the palate, its great sapidity and structure blend with a firm acidic backbone, closing with a clean and persistent finish, characterised by hints of flint and slight smoky nuances.

Origin

This wine originates in Montefiore dell’Aso, in the Marche region, within the Offida area. The vineyards are situated at approximately 350 metres above sea level, rooted in clay-based soils and cultivated using the simple Guyot system. The particular pedoclimatic conditions, combined with a limited yield per hectare, allow for the harvesting of rich and concentrated grapes, fundamental for ensuring the gustatory consistency that defines this label’s identity.

Production process

Production begins with the manual harvesting of the bunches in early September, so as to preserve the integrity of the fruit. Vinification and subsequent ageing take place entirely in glass-lined concrete tanks. This technical choice maintains maximum aromatic purity and promotes a natural balance between structure and acidity, enhancing the clarity of the bouquet.
