Description
What kind of wine it is
The Chianti Classico Duelame BIO from Lamole di Lamole is a still wine that encapsulates the purity of its terroir, the result of an organic blend of Sangiovese and Canaiolo Nero. With a bright ruby red colour, it reveals a clear bouquet of black cherry and wild berries, enhanced by notes of iris, violet and fresh aromatic herbs. On the palate, it is generous and fruity, supported by ultra-fine tannins that are perfectly integrated. The lively acidity harmoniously balances the softness of the sip, leading to a persistent, intense and aromatic finish.
Where it comes from
This Tuscan red is born in the heart of Chianti Classico, in the municipality of Greve in Chianti. The vineyards are planted on terraced slopes locally known as “lame”, situated between 420 and 655 metres above sea level. This altitude ensures excellent temperature variation, essential for the development of aromatic precursors and typical of heroic viticulture. The soils, rich in Tuscan galestro, sandstone and alberese, give the wine a vibrant savouriness and precision, enhanced by optimal south-west and west-facing exposures.
How it is produced
After harvesting, vinification takes place in steel with a brief maceration on the skins to preserve a clean and linear profile. The wine is aged for six months in steel before maturing for over a year in large barrels, acquiring a delicate spicy touch that never overpowers the fruit’s fragrance. Ideal if allowed to breathe for about an hour, it pairs beautifully with Tuscan cuisine classics, such as pici with game ragù or beef tartare. Its vibrant freshness also makes it a surprising match for charcuterie boards and, if served slightly chilled, even with white-fleshed fish.
History and Curiosities
Produced in Greve in Chianti, Chianti Classico Duelame BIO embodies the essence of authentic heroic viticulture. The name pays tribute to the “lame”, the characteristic Eocene terraces situated between 420 and 655 metres above sea level, where Lamole di Lamole cultivates its vines in full respect of nature. These altitudes bestow the wine with a unique elegance, while the slow ageing in large barrels refines its ultra-fine-grained tannins, offering the palate a vibrant freshness, floral hints and crisp notes of red fruits.
