Description
What kind of wine it is
Champagne Rosé de Meunier Extra Brut is a rosé wine made from Pinot Meunier grapes and produced using the Traditional Method. On the nose, it reveals a bouquet characterised by orange zest, sweet red fruits and blueberry, enriched by fresh hints of mint. The palate is lively and extremely dry, satisfying with a pronounced mineral and chalky finish. Its elegant and defined texture makes it an excellent companion to enhance refined aperitifs and light starters.
Where it comes from
This label by Laherte Frères originates in France, among the plots of the Marne Valley and the Chavot area. The Pinot Meunier vines grow on clay soils, which give density to the palate while maintaining a clear vibrancy of flavour. The biodynamic approach adopted in the vineyard ensures the utmost respect for the land, enhancing the purity of the raw material. The synergy between soil composition and grape variety expression defines a consistent and highly distinguished style.
How it is produced
Vinification is carried out plot by plot to highlight every nuance of the terroir. Fermentation takes place in vats and wooden barrels, while the final blend benefits from reserve wines to increase overall complexity. Following the secondary fermentation in the bottle, typical of the Traditional Method, the long ageing on fine lees consolidates the structure and organoleptic depth. A minimal dosage finally preserves the distinctly dry character of a fresh and utterly vibrant glass.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1889, the family-run maison Laherte Frères expresses the authenticity of the Champagne terroir through a rigorous biodynamic approach. This elegant wine is born from old Meunier vines, carefully vinified plot by plot. The use of reserve wines ensures continuity for this fine extra brut traditional method, creating a sublime synthesis of complexity and vibrant mineral freshness. The palate is deep and dry, ideal for accompanying refined aperitifs thanks to its enchanting notes of red fruits, mint and chalk.

The Laherte brothers' vineyards extend over three typical Champagne locations: Épernay, Côte des Blancs, and Vallée de la Marne; a total of 10 historic crus. The cultivation philosophy involves absolute respect for traditions and a preference for natural methods in place of chemical products: use of plant compounds to increase the defensive capacity of the vines, non-invasive pruning that maintains developed foliage in height, organisation of work and treatments according to the most auspicious days. The production process involves separate vinifications for each Cru to make the most of micro-climatic variations, followed by a work of selection and combination of the wines produced to create a harmonious, elegant and fruity Champagne. Fermentation is slow and spontaneous; one or two racking takes place before bottling.
The Champagnes of the Laherte brothers are brilliantly clean, crisp and genuine wines, resulting from cultivation and production processes based on unconventional and sustainable systems. They are elegant and refined wines that evoke the flavour of the grapes and soils from which they originated. All the products in the range are of high quality and capable of impressing even the most discerning palates, where the bubbles explode, giving that wide variety of aromas and flavours that only the best Champagnes can provide.
