Where it comes from

This wine originates in Tuscany, in the renowned area of Panzano in Chianti. The Carla 6 vineyards grow in plots located in the prestigious Conca d’Oro, where they benefit from an ideal southern exposure. This positioning ensures optimal ripening of the grapes, defining the wine’s profound identity. Production follows a rigorous philosophy linked to the land, aimed at enhancing the unique soil and climate characteristics of its origin and the strong connection with its local area.

How it is produced

Vinification is meticulously overseen by oenologist Carlo Ferrini, with the aim of preserving the aromatic integrity of the fruit. To enhance its organoleptic qualities, it is recommended to serve it at 18-20 °C, taking care to decant it for about an hour. At the table, it pairs perfectly with game dishes, roasts, braised red meats and pork, but it also goes wonderfully with mature and flavoursome cheeses. It is excellent even enjoyed on its own, to appreciate every single nuance.

History and Curiosities

Under the expert guidance of oenologist Carlo Ferrini, this Toscana IGT 2021 embodies a rigorous philosophy linked to the terroir, meticulously cared for from the vineyard to the cellar. La Massa is a gem located in the heart of Chianti Classico, whose philosophy revolves around studying the terroir as a tool to improve the efficiency of production, from the vineyard to the winery. 27 hectares of vineyard facing south in the beautiful Conca d’Oro of Panzano in Chianti (Fi). Documents unveil the fascinating history of the wine and the oil that has been produced since the XV century; at the end of the 1700s, when it was called Podere di Massa, it became the property of the curia of Fiesole, and subsequently of the "Spedale di Bonifazio della città di Firenze". Giampaolo Motta took over in 1992 and started a lengthy restoration project of the vineyards and wineries, in order to chase his very own dream of making it into an unreachable Paradise. Read more
