Description
What kind of wine is it
Tenute Orestiadi La Gelsomina Etna Rosé Metodo Classico Brut is a sparkling wine that embodies the essence of Etna. Made from a harmonious blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, this wine is crafted using the Traditional Method, resting for a long period to acquire refined elegance. In the glass, it displays a bright pink colour with cherry hues, enhanced by a lively mousse and a fine, persistent perlage. The bouquet is intense, fragrant and pleasantly fruity, leading to a fresh, dry and long-lasting palate.
Where does it come from
The roots of this label lie in Sicily, on the slopes of the volcano. The grapes ripen at around 520 metres above sea level on volcanic soils, which impart a taut and mineral flavour profile. The Orestiadi project focuses on enhancing native Sicilian grape varieties, precisely translating the authenticity of the rural landscape and the extraordinary vocation of Etna.
How is it produced
Production follows the strict steps of the Traditional Method with a Brut dosage. The wine spends at least 30 months on the lees, enriching the finesse of the perlage and providing excellent aromatic continuity. The result is a dry, well-structured wine, rated 91/100 by a renowned Italian guide. With an ageing potential of up to 10 years, it is at its most enjoyable when served at a temperature of 6-8 °C.
