Description

What type of wine is it

Val de Loire Sauvignon Blanc from La Forchetiere is a still white wine, an authentic expression of the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. In the glass, the pale yellow colour with bright green highlights precedes a bouquet characterised by elegant floral notes and distinct mineral hints. On the palate, it reveals itself to be dry and fresh, with a linear texture that culminates in intense white fruit aromas, with a profile enhanced by low-temperature fermentation and ageing on the fine lees.

Where it comes from

This wine is produced in Vendée, at an estate overlooking the Boulogne Valley. The Sauvignon Blanc vines, which are approximately thirty-five years old, are distributed between the districts of Melon and Folle Blanche. The nature of the clay-schist soils represents the fundamental geological factor for conveying a clear mineral imprint to the plant. These pedoclimatic conditions favour the development of an intense and well-defined aromatic profile.

How it is produced

Vinification begins with the direct pressing of the grapes to obtain a clear and precise must. The subsequent fermentation in tanks at low temperatures is essential to preserve the varietal character intact. The wine then matures through targeted ageing on the fine lees, which provides depth of flavour and a dry finish. The process concludes with bottling at source, guaranteeing total control over every stage of the production chain.

History and facts

This Sauvignon Blanc by La Forchetière originates from a 50-hectare estate in the Loire Valley, at a château in Vendée.
