Description
What kind of wine it is
I Viaggiatori di Joaquin is a wine from Campania made from Aglianico grapes. Thanks to a targeted fermentation in fibreglass, it preserves a fresh and precise aromatic profile. On the palate, it displays a deep body, led by a silky entry and dense, velvety tannins. The tasting reveals intense fruit, enriched by clear mineral notes and a measured spiciness. Structured and elegant, it expresses itself as a profound meditation wine, ideal for sipping slowly.
Where it comes from
This red comes to life in the upper Taurasi valley, in Paternopoli. Here, a cool continental climate favours optimal aromatic definition of the grapes. The value of this production lies in the rare ungrafted vines, almost two-hundred-year-old plants that sink their roots into highly suited soils. This viticultural heritage gives the wine remarkable vitality and a dense tannic texture. The identity of the territory delivers a vibrant sip, ensuring perfect balance between power and grace with every taste.
How it is produced
The grapes are harvested in mid-October, destemmed and subjected to about ten days of maceration. The process continues with ageing in fibreglass, which may be complemented by a calibrated passage in wooden barrels. The wine presents an intense ruby colour, enlivened by violet reflections. On the nose, it expresses a complex bouquet, defined by blackberry, cherry and hints of Mediterranean scrub, fading into clear notes of cocoa and liquorice. At the table, it excels when paired with game, red meats and mature cheeses.

The story began in 1999, when Raffaele Pagano decided to express his opinions on ancient grapes, starting to work on Fiano, Aglianico and Greco, the standard bearer of a territory, Irpinia, dedicated to the viticulture of excellence. Land, this, where the predominance of the thermal excursions, the volcanicity of the soil, the minerality, the peculiarity of the climate, favors high evolutions for white wines and where the cold of its hills generates reds of strength and extreme elegance. Uniqueness of a Wine, therefore, experience of a territory.
"From the beginning, we wanted to look for these grapes, their best expression, giving a meaning, a subjective interpretation to the word" VINIFICATION. "The thought is simple, it is direct, the idea is to produce unique pieces.
We produce, if there are the conditions of vintage, if mother nature allows us. To do this we have a "Bunker" ... the Cellar. A huge space, for the bottles to be produced, but useful for the refinements, so that the permanence of whites and reds, both in wood and in glass, is complete ... long ". Read more
