Description
What kind of wine it is
Partition by J-M Sélèque is a structured and defined Champagne, born from a meticulous blend that enhances Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir. Produced according to the principles of the Traditional Method, it appears in the glass with a bright straw yellow colour and golden highlights. On the nose, it is rich, characterised by clear pastry notes, fresh fruit and delicate yellow flowers. On the palate, the choice of Extra Brut dosage ensures a dry, balanced and medium-bodied taste, delivering a dry, clean and technically precise flavour profile.
Where it comes from
This wine comes from the prestigious Champagne region, combining the fruits of seven specific plots located between the villages of Pierry, Vertus, Dizy, Épernay and Mardeuil. The vines sink their roots into clay soils enriched with flint and limestone, resting on a deep subsoil of Campanian chalk. This unique geological composition imparts a consistent and distinctive mineral texture to the glass, offering a faithful, clear and uncompromising expression of the various characteristics of its terroir.
How it is produced
Production follows an approach aimed at absolute precision, with a first fermentation carried out entirely in oak barrels. To preserve the natural tension of the must, the winery avoids malolactic fermentation and opts for natural cold stabilisation, excluding any fining or filtration practices. The long ageing on fine lees for at least forty-eight months is at the heart of its evolution, an essential period that gives depth to the palate and ensures a profound and persistent flavour progression.
History and Curiosities
Partition was born from J-M Sélèque's vision of orchestrating seven noble crus of Champagne into a harmonious musical score. The 2018 vintage is entirely fermented in oak barrels, without malolactic fermentation or filtration, to preserve the pure expression of the chalky and clay-rich terroir. This Extra Brut is enhanced by a slow 48-month maturation on fine lees. The skilful blend of Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir offers a unique glass, enriched with fragrant floral and patisserie notes.

Quickly passionate about vines, Richard, son of Henri and Françoise, studied oenology and began producing Champagne when he joined the winery in 1974.
He brought modern equipment for vine cultivation and winemaking: a digger tractor, a new press, vats, etc. As a result, the estate grew rapidly, and in the 1990s, production reached 50,000 bottles.
1995 will remain in the company's memories as the year Henri passed away. The 'Comédie' blend was created to honour him with his portrait on the metal cap. Françoise - the late Henri's wife - passed away in 2011.
The third generation arrived in 2008 - Jean-Marc joined the estate after studying wine and travelling abroad. He brought new life and a very personal approach to the creation of Champagne. Read more
