Description

What kind of wine it is

Jean Vesselle Champagne Grand Cru Prestige Brut is a wine of great structure, crafted using the Traditional Method. This blend combines Pinot Noir with Chardonnay to offer a dry profile of remarkable complexity. Characterised by a straw yellow colour with golden highlights, it displays a fine and persistent mousse. On the nose and palate, it reveals intense aromas of dried fruit and honey, with a powerful sip and a long-lasting finish. This Champagne is the ideal companion for lobster dishes, caviar, mature cheeses, or for moments of contemplation with Cuban cigars.

Where it comes from

This wine originates in the heart of the Champagne region, drawing from the renowned Grand Cru vineyards of Bouzy and Chouilly. The Jean Vesselle estate cultivates its own vines with a deep commitment to the environment, practising grassing of the soils to eliminate the use of herbicides and investing in renewable energy. This approach allows the authentic character of the terroir to be fully expressed.

How it is produced

The production process begins with a manual harvest, followed by immediate pressing to preserve the integrity of the musts. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled tanks and in conical wooden barrels, which help define the personality of the cuvée. The secondary fermentation occurs in the bottle following the Traditional Method, followed by four years of ageing to achieve extraordinary aromatic richness. The restrained dosage enhances the Brut style and the solid structure of this refined sparkling wine.

History and Curiosities

The family-run Jean Vesselle estate signs the Prestige cuvée, a rarity for true connoisseurs. Produced from Grand Cru vineyards in Bouzy and Chouilly, cultivated without herbicides and using renewable energy, it expresses the authentic character of the terroir. After manual harvesting, the wine rests in the cellar for a 4-year maturation, developing its character in truncated wooden barrels. The result is an elegant and masterful blend, awarded 90 points by Robert Parker, encapsulating the artisanal spirit of the finest Champagne vintages.
