Description

What kind of wine it is

This rosé by Hofstätter is created from a blend of Lagrein and Merlot, grapes grown in South Tyrol. It belongs to the Vigneti delle Dolomiti area, offering a fresh profile with pronounced minerality. In the glass, it displays a bright raspberry pink colour. On the nose, it releases delicate aromas of wild strawberries and currants, with floral nuances intertwined with a subtle citrus note. The palate is harmonious, supported by a lively acidity that leads to a pleasantly persistent finish.

Where it comes from

The roots of this wine lie in the soils of South Tyrol, specifically on the slopes of Tramin-Termeno and in the lands of the municipality of Ora. The distinctive clay, gravel and sandy soils provide an ideal environment for a lean and well-defined expression. The alpine microclimate encourages an aromatic profile focused on small red fruits and marked freshness. The deep connection with its homeland is reflected in a direct and authentic drinking experience.

How it is produced

After destemming, a brief skin maceration of one day gives the must its bright hue. This is followed by gentle pressing, before fermentation and maturation in stainless steel. This ageing process preserves the wine’s aromatic purity and natural smoothness. At the table, it proves extremely versatile: its elegant texture pairs perfectly with Mediterranean cuisine, and also enhances seafood starters, light cured meats, sushi and shellfish.

History and Curiosities

An elegant tribute to family tradition, this Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT masterfully combines Lagrein and Merlot grapes grown between Termeno and Ora. A delicate one-day maceration on the skins gives the 2024 vintage a brilliant raspberry pink colour. Ageing in steel preserves its wild strawberry aromas, offering the palate a lively mineral freshness and a harmonious, persistent finish. It is the ideal companion to enhance summer dinners and Mediterranean cuisine dishes.

The wisdom of generations. The drive to continuously create something new together. Our family winery’s story stretches back to the 19th century. Anticipating the future, just like Paolo Foradori. He once coins the term "Vigna" – marking the dawn of single-vineyard classification in Alto Adige. Pioneering spirit is deeply ingrained in our family heritage. Today, it is led by Martin and Beatrix Foradori Hofstätter, supported by the next generation: Niklas and Emma.

We uphold the highest standards every single day. In the vineyard, this means nurturing our vines through gentle pruning and the use of cover crops to enhance their strength. In the wine cellar, innovation meets tradition, as we age our wines in both classic wooden barrels and modern concrete vats. Cutting-edge cellar technology also plays an essential role in ensuring the quality of our wines.
