Description

What kind of wine it is

Inama Soave Classico Vigneti Foscarino is a white wine from Veneto that expresses the essence of the region through an elegant and enveloping sensory profile. Made from Garganega grapes grown using sustainable methods, this wine represents the excellence of Soave Classico. On the nose, it offers an intense honeyed bouquet with clear notes of chamomile, elderflower and iris. On the palate, the taste is broad, supported by a marked minerality and a characteristic finish of sweet almond. It pairs ideally with fish dishes such as sushi, vegetable veloutés and typical local cheeses.

Where it comes from

The wine originates from the hills between Monteforte d’Alpone and Soave, specifically on Monte Foscarino. The vineyards are situated between one hundred and two hundred metres above sea level, enjoying excellent sun exposure. The historic vines, cultivated using the pergola system, sink their roots into deep basaltic lava soils. This matrix of pure volcanic origin forms the soul of the terroir and gives the wine its unmistakable flavour progression. Inama manages these ancient plots following an organic approach.

How it is produced

After manual harvesting and subsequent destemming, the grapes undergo skin maceration for a period of between eight and twelve hours. The must, cold-settled, begins fermentation in used barrels, gaining structure thanks to six months of bâtonnage. A careful racking precedes the ageing in steel phase, which lasts a further six months. A light filtration is carried out before bottling, concluding a production process aimed at respecting the integrity of the raw material.

History and Curiosities

Produced by Inama, a winery founded in 1965, Vigneti Foscarino 2023 is a fascinating interpretation of Soave Classico in an ancient and minimalist style. The forty-year-old historic vines, trained on pergolas, sink their roots into the pure volcanic basalt of Monte Foscarino, giving the wine an unmistakable volcanic character. Awarded 94 points by James Suckling, this extraordinary white made from Garganega grapes follows a fully organic and sustainable vision: a true dive into Venetian history, capable of evoking the ancient winemaking tradition of the Romans.

This Soave Classico elegantly accompanies fish dishes such as sushi and delicate seafood soups, enhancing their flavours when served at 10-12 °C. Its pronounced minerality pairs beautifully with vitello tonnato, vegetarian veloutés or a classic risotto with hop shoots. It is also the ideal choice to complement local cheeses such as Monte Veronese.
