Description

What kind of wine it is

Nerosanlorè by Gulfi is an organic red that elegantly interprets the character of Nero d’Avola. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby colour with violet highlights, releasing a balsamic bouquet dominated by notes of red rose, wilted violet, morello cherry in spirit and dried hay. On the palate, it stands out for its extreme smoothness and velvety tannins, with a delicate savouriness that accompanies a long finish with clear spicy hints.

Where it comes from

The grapes ripen in the area of Pachino, in the evocative Val di Noto. Produced in the territory of Terre Siciliane, the wine is made from vines cultivated using the alberello system on a distinctive red sandy soil. This specific earthy matrix gives the sip great balance and a defined mineral texture. The microclimate enhances the aromatic intensity of the bunches, delivering in the glass an authentic expression of the Sicilian territory.

How it is produced

The vinification involves a long maceration of the must in contact with the skins, an essential process to achieve a complex aromatic extraction. The wine matures for twenty-four months in wooden barrels, followed by a year of rest in the bottle. This production process gives structural harmony and great ageing potential. After decanting, it pairs ideally with game dishes, red meats and mature cheeses.

History and Curiosities

Born in the Val di Noto, Gulfi's Nerosanlorè expresses the true elegance of Sicily through organic vineyards cultivated as bush vines on red sandy soils in Pachino. Under the expert guidance of oenologist Salvo Foti, this noble pure Nero d’Avola comes to life thanks to a long maceration on the skins, followed by a slow maturation of 24 months in tonneaux and a further year in the bottle. This multi-award-winning excellence, awarded 95 points by Vinous and 5 bunches by Bibenda, celebrates the deep dedication of the family estate.
