Description
What kind of wine it is
Nerobufaleffj by Gulfi is an organic red wine made from Nero d’Avola grapes, an authentic expression of the Sicilian Lands territory. It displays a ruby red colour and an intense aromatic profile, characterised by balsamic notes of eucalyptus, mint and aromatic herbs, interwoven with hints of blackberries, liquorice root and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, it is a red of great structure, warm and enveloping, balanced by fresh savouriness and a dense tannic texture. The sip finishes with a persistent aftertaste and pleasant fruity returns.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Sicily, in the Val di Noto, specifically in the Pachino area. The Nero d’Avola vines, trained using the traditional bush vine system, are cultivated following a strict organic and sustainable approach. The plants sink their roots into a mosaic of soils ranging from black clay to white limestone, and even red sand. This unique soil composition gives the wine a pronounced territorial character, enhancing its savoury traits and solid mineral component.
How it is produced
The grapes are harvested after mid-September to begin red vinification. The must undergoes a long maceration on the skins, an essential step to extract colour and substance. After malolactic fermentation, the wine rests in small barrels for about twenty-four months, refining the tannic structure. The production cycle concludes with bottle ageing for around two years, reaching perfect balance to accompany flavourful dishes based on pork, wild mushrooms or mature cheeses.
