Description
What kind of wine it is
C’era Una Volta Moscato Dolce is an aromatic Lombard wine produced by Losito e Guarini, made from Moscato Bianco grapes, also known as Moscato Reale. It comes from the Province of Pavia and displays a clear and clean aromatic profile. It offers a floral bouquet of acacia and honey, enriched with hints of peach, apricot, plum and citrus fruits. On the palate, it is a sweet and balanced wine, characterised by freshness and a rounded structure. Its liveliness is ensured by refermentation in autoclave, which preserves its original aromatic character.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in the Province of Pavia, an area renowned for the cultivation of Moscato since the sixteenth century. The vines are grown using the Guyot system on soils rich in calcareous marl and gypsum, ideal for a clear aromatic expression. The grape variety has ancient origins, having been spread throughout the Mediterranean by the Greeks and Phoenicians and already appreciated in Roman times. Its history is intertwined with that of Losito e Guarini, who have been working with dedication since 1910 to restore the authenticity of this corner of Lombardy.
How it is produced
Hand-harvested, the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing and cold cryomaceration. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature with selected yeasts, followed by natural refermentation in pressurised tanks. Ageing occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with rigorous analytical checks to safeguard the sensory profile. In the glass, it presents a deep straw yellow colour with greenish highlights. The entire process is aimed at preserving the perfect harmony between the natural sweetness and freshness of the grape.
