Description
What kind of wine it is
Gewurztraminer Aime by Girlan is an aromatic white wine with Alto Adige designation. Made from Gewurztraminer grapes and fermented in steel, it stands out for its intense and fragrant bouquet, characterised by notes of lychee, rose water, exotic fruit and Mediterranean spices. On the palate, it is full and smooth, proving to be surprisingly dry and well balanced by a pronounced freshness. The enveloping sip finishes with a persistent finale and a delicate almond aftertaste.
Where it comes from
The roots of this wine lie in the finest plots located between Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. The vineyards stretch across sunny slopes and flat areas, characterised by warm and light soils of volcanic and calcareous origin. In this particular part of Alto Adige, the vines benefit from an Alpine-Mediterranean climate. Mild southern currents favour regular ripening of the grapes, while the mountain barriers offer protection from cold northern winds. This valuable territorial combination gives the wine a marked gustatory tension and a profound adherence to its area of origin.
How it is produced
Care in the vineyard is reflected in a rigorous manual harvest, with the grapes transported in small containers to preserve the perfect integrity of the bunches. In the cellar, the process begins with a brief skin maceration followed by gentle whole-bunch pressing. The must is clarified by natural decantation, preceding a temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks. To maintain the primary liveliness of the fruit and protect the aromas from oxidation, the wine rests for a six-month maturation on fine lees, carried out exclusively in steel and without malolactic fermentation. The meticulous processing makes the product suitable even for those following a vegan diet.
