Description
What kind of wine is it
The Spumante Crudoo Rosé by Giorgi is a refined rosé made from Pinot Noir grapes. This Extra Dry defines its identity through the Charmat method, maturing in a pressurised tank for twelve months in contact with its own lees. It displays a pleasantly hazy pink colour, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, fragrant notes of fresh fruit and dog rose emerge, preceding a lively, balanced sip with a pleasantly velvety softness.
Where does it come from
This sparkling wine originates from the hills of Lombardy, in the heart of the Oltrepò Pavese, a region renowned for the cultivation of Pinot Noir. Giorgi is a historic presence in these lands, operating with dedication since 1875. The strong connection with the terroir allows for the creation of ideal sparkling wine bases, capable of enhancing the natural qualities of the grape variety. This clear territorial identity is fully reflected in the wine’s final expression, ensuring freshness, aromatic clarity and elegance in the glass.
How is it produced
Production begins with meticulous manual harvesting of the grapes. After destemming and crushing, the must undergoes maceration on the skins for about eight hours, followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. In spring, the prise de mousse takes place using the Charmat method in pressurised tanks, where the wine matures for twelve months. The absence of filtration before bottling preserves the natural lees, giving the wine its sought-after and characteristic haziness.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1875 in the Oltrepò Pavese, Cantine Giorgi combines a long-standing family tradition with a modern vision, exporting Italian excellence to as many as 59 countries. The Giorgi Spumante Crudoo Rosé, a pure Pinot Noir awarded 91 points by Luca Maroni, stands as a true flagship of their production. The uniqueness of this Charmat Method lies in its long maturation on the lees for twelve months and the complete absence of filtration, a production choice that gives the glass its fascinating and natural cloudiness.

The Giorgi family has always firmly focused on the entire production chain: from the grape to the bottle, laying the foundations from the beginning to realise their grand project of creating a significant wine company. This project became a reality as early as 1970, when the brothers, Gianfranco and Antonio, built a second winery, modern and technologically very advanced, in Canneto Pavese.
With the construction of the third winery in Camponoce, Giorgi finally achieved national consecration in the 1980s, with a sales network of 80 representatives and a presence in the best restaurants and wine shops nationwide.
Today Giorgi Vini exports to 59 countries worldwide, has more than 160 agents in Italy, and has won the most important international and national awards (Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso and Five Bunches sommelier). In addition, Giorgi proudly represents Oltrepò Pavese in Italy and the world. Read more
