Description
What kind of wine it is
Giorgi Spumante Crudoo Extra Dry is born from a harmonious blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, presenting itself as an authentic expression of Lombardy. This wine immediately stands out for its naturally cloudy appearance, due to the complete lack of filtration. In the glass, it reveals a captivating cloudy straw yellow colour, enlivened by a fine and persistent perlage. The aromatic bouquet opens with fragrant notes of bread crust, then unveils hints of mandarin, apricot and vanilla. On the palate, it is well-balanced, characterised by the slight sweetness typical of its dosage, interwoven with delicate memories of anise and well-ripened fruit.
Where it comes from
This sparkling wine comes to life from the hillside slopes of Lombardy, where the vineyards are trained using the Guyot system at an altitude between 220 and 300 metres above sea level. The excellent south and south-east exposure ensures optimal ripening of the grapes, while the calcareous-clay soils impart a distinct gustatory identity. At the table, it proves extremely versatile: served as an elegant aperitif, it perfectly accompanies fresh shellfish, delicate seafood soups and fragrant mushroom risottos. It also pairs well with cheeses, light vegetarian dishes and tasty recipes such as dill salmon or bruschetta with butter and anchovies.
How it is produced
The production process begins between late August and early September with a rigorous manual harvest. In the winery, after gentle pressing, the prise de mousse takes place in an autoclave following the Charmat Method. The wine's distinctive character comes from the prolonged ageing of twelve months in contact with the lees. At the end of this phase, bottling is carried out while keeping the lees in suspension, without undergoing any clarification process. This winemaking technique preserves the sensory profile, ensuring a lively and balanced sip.
History and Curiosities
Obtained from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown on renowned calcareous-clay soils in Lombardy, Giorgi's Crudoo Extra Dry masterfully blends elegance and craftsmanship. After a meticulous manual harvest, this wine develops its vibrant character through 12 months of ageing on the lees according to the Charmat method. Its uniqueness lies in the unfiltered bottling: the yeasts kept in suspension give it a fascinating naturally cloudy appearance. Awarded by Luca Maroni, it offers a genuine experience for toasts of pure charm.

The Giorgi family has always firmly focused on the entire production chain: from the grape to the bottle, laying the foundations from the beginning to realise their grand project of creating a significant wine company. This project became a reality as early as 1970, when the brothers, Gianfranco and Antonio, built a second winery, modern and technologically very advanced, in Canneto Pavese.
With the construction of the third winery in Camponoce, Giorgi finally achieved national consecration in the 1980s, with a sales network of 80 representatives and a presence in the best restaurants and wine shops nationwide.
Today Giorgi Vini exports to 59 countries worldwide, has more than 160 agents in Italy, and has won the most important international and national awards (Three Glasses by Gambero Rosso and Five Bunches sommelier). In addition, Giorgi proudly represents Oltrepò Pavese in Italy and the world. Read more
