Description
What kind of wine is it
Georg Breuer GB Sans Riesling Zero Alcohol is a still non-alcoholic white wine that delivers the clarity and typical character of Riesling. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow hue enriched with bright greenish reflections. The bouquet is fresh and precise, characterised by fragrant citrus notes of lemon and lime, intertwined with delicate floral hints and aromas of green apple. On the palate, it is dry, defined by a fine body and a pleasant freshness that accompanies the sip through to a long and clean finish. It proves ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, lean fish, poultry, and fresh cheeses.
Where does it come from
This expression of Riesling originates in Germany, within the renowned Rheingau region, a historic area for the country's viticulture. The grapes come from vineyards cultivated by Georg Breuer, an estate managing plots distributed among the towns of Rüdesheim, Rauenthal, and Lorch. Over half of these vineyards are situated on steep slopes, a geographical condition that favours optimal sun exposure and ensures high-quality yields. The meticulous agricultural care is reflected in a tense and distinctive aromatic profile, capable of faithfully translating the vocation of the land into a dynamic and satisfying alternative.
How is it produced
The creation of Georg Breuer GB Sans Riesling Zero Alcohol begins with a rigorous manual harvest of the grapes, followed by a white vinification process designed to preserve the fruit's fragrance. Once the base wine is obtained, dealcoholisation is carried out through vacuum distillation using spinning cone technology. This gentle method allows the removal of the alcoholic component while maintaining the original aromatic profile of the Riesling. The maturation phase takes place exclusively in stainless steel tanks, a technical choice aimed at enhancing the crispness and natural liveliness of the grape variety without altering its balance.
History and Curiosities
Founded in 1880 in the renowned Rheingau terroir, the historic Georg Breuer winery cultivates prized vineyards on steep slopes. GB Sans Riesling Zero Alcohol expresses the estate's excellence in a lighter form: it is made from hand-picked grapes and vinified according to tradition. To preserve the original aromatic profile, the alcohol is gently removed using modern vacuum distillation with a rotating cone. Maturation in stainless steel tanks ensures an elegant alcohol-free white wine, capable of expressing all the purity of the grape variety.
