Description
What kind of wine is it
The Champagne 1er Cru Pureté Brut Nature by Geoffroy is a refined zero dosage sparkling wine crafted strictly using the Traditional Method. It is born from a blend that combines Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. In the glass, it displays a straw yellow hue with golden reflections and a fine, persistent perlage. The aromatic profile is defined by notes of dried fruit and vanilla, enriched by subtle smoky hints. The palate is full, smooth and complex, characterised by tertiary aromas, sweet nuances of honey and a distinct mineral finish.
Where does it come from
The origin of this wine is deeply linked to the Vallée de la Marne, in the historic heart of Champagne. The Geoffroy family cultivates their own vineyards in Cumières and manages the estate in Aÿ with winemaking expertise that dates back to the 17th century. The Premier Cru classification ensures a well-defined character, in which the specificities of the terroir are blended into a balanced blend, guaranteeing an ideal synthesis of gustatory tension, expressive richness and formal precision.
How is it produced
The manual harvest precedes meticulous vinification by individual plots in enamelled steel vats at controlled temperature. To promote freshness and verticality, malolactic fermentation is not carried out, while a portion of the reserve wine matures in oak barrels, lending depth to the sip. The prise de mousse faithfully follows the Traditional Method. Thanks to the dry profile of the cuvée, it pairs perfectly with oysters, fresh shellfish, fish dishes and mature, characterful cheeses such as the prized Brie de Meaux.
History and Curiosities
The roots of the historic Geoffroy family stretch back to the 17th century in the Vallée de la Marne, a winemaking heritage now preserved in Aÿ. Their exceptional Champagne Premier Cru celebrates this long tradition with the Pureté cuvée, a refined Brut Nature with zero dosage that enhances the most authentic essence of the terroir. The meticulous vinification in steel vats, combined with reserve wines aged in oak without malolactic fermentation, shapes a complex identity, consistently acclaimed by the international critics.

The few acres of vineyards that our ancestors cultivated and handed down from generation to generation provide the link to our champagnes.
At the beginning of the 1950s Roger Geoffroy and his wife Julienne decided to take the plunge into winemaking and produced their first bottles: the Roger Geoffroy brand was born. René Geoffroy, their son, who loved the land, soon succeeded his father. An owner-grower to his soul, he acquired new vines, and with the help of his wife Bernadette, they developed and promoted their brand.
At the end of the 1980s. Jean-Baptiste joined the family estate, perfecting his craft working side by side with his father and his father's cousin Pierrot. In 2008, Jean-Baptiste and his wife Karine decided to relocate both the winemaking and commercial operations of Champagne Geoffoy business to Ay, to a property built in the late 19th century.
