Description
Style of wine
Freccianera's Franciacorta Rosé Brut, a rosé wine from Lombardy, combines the elegance of Chardonnay with the character of Pinot Noir. Produced according to the principles of the Traditional Method, it is distinguished by a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose, it offers an inviting bouquet of red berries, interwoven with delicate floral notes, hints of yeast, and fragrant aromas of brioche. The tasting reveals a savoury and crisp profile, in perfect balance between the freshness of citrus fruits and the vibrancy of red berries. Prolonged ageing on the lees gives the palate a significant structure, finishing with a distinct and clean minerality.
Origin
This wine is born in the heart of Franciacorta, from vineyards located in Borgonato di Corte Franca, Torbiato di Adro, and Provaglio d’Iseo. The vines sit at an altitude of approximately two hundred and fifty metres, with south and south-east exposure. The terroir boasts a sandy and calcareous soil of morainic origin, which imparts precision and minerality. The subalpine and Mediterranean microclimate is crucial: Lake Iseo mitigates the winters, while the cool summer breezes from the Alta Valle Camonica ensure the development of aromatic finesse and preserve the excellent gustatory tension of the grapes.
Production
The manual harvest precedes a soft whole-cluster pressing. A portion of the Pinot Noir undergoes a brief maceration at a controlled temperature, before continuing vinification alongside the Chardonnay. After cold settling, primary fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks, with each parcel processed separately. The wine matures on the fine lees with frequent pump-overs until the blend is created. The process concludes with secondary fermentation in the bottle: ageing on the lees for at least forty months enriches the cuvée, finally defined by a measured Brut dosage.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
