Description
What type of wine it is
Freccianera Franciacorta Brut Nature by Fratelli Berlucchi is a DOCG white wine from Lombardy that expresses the essence of the territory through an elegant blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Produced according to the Classic Method, this wine involves no sugar dosage, offering a taut, dry, and vertical profile. The fine and persistent perlage accompanies aromas of yeast, rye bread, citrus, and lychee, enriched by delicate hints of toasted hazelnut. On the palate, a vibrant mineral freshness and impeccable balance emerge, making it the ideal companion for oysters, raw fish, and medium-aged cheeses.
Where it comes from
This wine originates in Lombardy, in the heart of Franciacorta. The vineyards, located at about two hundred and fifty metres above sea level, are rooted in sandy-calcareous soils of morainic origin, capable of giving a deep savouriness to the grapes. The microclimate is positively influenced by Lake Iseo, which mitigates winter temperatures, while cool mountain breezes ensure excellent diurnal temperature variation and the perfect health of the bunches. Agronomic management aims to protect the ecosystem through controlled surface grassing and interventions reduced to a minimum to safeguard soil vitality.
How it is produced
Processing strictly follows the Classic Method, starting with a gentle pressing of the grapes. The first fermentation takes place separately for each plot in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After the spring tirage, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, followed by prolonged ageing on the lees for at least thirty months. The extended stay on the fine lees imparts complexity and structure. The disgorgement phase takes place without sugar dosage, a choice aimed at preserving the integrity of the fruit and providing a dry, savoury finish of great persistence.
History and curiosities
The Freccianera Franciacorta Brut Nature 2022 expresses the soul of the Fratelli Berlucchi estate, founded in 1977. This line celebrates the winery's thirty years, highlighting the prestige of a single harvest. The skilful choice of the Traditional Method with zero dosage reveals the authentic essence of Chardonnay and Pinot Nero, without added sugars. Through a meticulous ageing on the lees for at least 30 months, this sparkling wine acquires an extraordinary aromatic complexity, offering the palate a refined vertical structure.

From the love between Francesco and Giustina, Ignazio, the first-born son, and Antonio Berlucchi, the second-born son, were born. On the death of his father Francesco, the eldest son Ignazio inherited the historical palace of the Lana-Berlucchi family, while the second-born Antonio inherited the Casa delle Colonne and a set of agricultural plots particularly suited to the cultivation of vines. Antonio founded the farm in 1927, which he then left to his five children, siblings Francesco, Gabriella, Marcello, Roberto and Pia Donata Berlucchi.
In 1977, the siblings began to produce Franciacorta, initiating the historic and current collaboration with oenologist Cesare Ferrari; on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of production, the Freccianera millesimati line was born: Millesimo 2007, a limited series of 3,000 bottles destined to be released on the market after 6 years of ageing on the lees.
The arrow shot from the medieval past that the family's palaces and vineyards recount, arrives today, with the unchanged black colour, from the first label of 1977. Read more
