Description
What kind of wine it is
The Champagne Dis Vin Secret Brut by Françoise Bedel is a rigorous and distinctive expression, crafted following the Traditional Method. This sparkling wine is born from a skilful blend of Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes grown biodynamically. The aromatic profile opens with rounded, fruity scents, while on the palate it reveals a full-bodied sip with a vinous texture, offering a structured complexity with a dry and persistent finish. It is ideal for accompanying dishes based on scallops, foie gras or cheese.
Where it comes from
The grapes destined for this label come from the Marne Valley, from parcels distributed in the villages along the river. Françoise Bedel carefully manages old vines that reach up to seventy years of age, rooted in deep marl-limestone and siliceous soils. The rigorous viticulture allows the plants to extract the mineral essence of the land, transferring a frank and authentic imprint to the glass. This attentive agricultural work enhances the deep territorial vocation of the area.
How it is produced
The grapes are harvested and vinified separately before creating the final blend. The subsequent refermentation takes place according to the principles of the Traditional Method, ensuring the development of a fine and well-integrated perlage. The wine then undergoes a patient ageing on the lees for four years, a crucial period to enrich the body and give depth to the structure. Tasting reveals a dry and precise style, supported by an ageing potential of between five and ten years.
History and Curiosities

Fernand and Marie-Louise Bedel were the first generation and Françoise Bedel took over part of the estate in 1979. The plots have different subsoils, which allows for blending according to the terroirs and the elaboration of 'terroir' cuvées. The champagnes are the expression of a rigorous method that brings out and enhances the qualities and particularities of the earth, the vines and the fruit. Read more
