Description
What kind of wine it is
The Opale Rosé Sparkling Wine by Franc Lizer is a dealcoholised wine with a coral pink colour, created from a blend of Glera and Merlot. Characterised by a fine perlage and a fragrant profile, it offers clear aromas of apple and pleasant notes of small red fruits on the nose. On the palate, it stands out for its great freshness and lively acidity, balanced by a pleasant softness that makes it ideal for accompanying aperitifs, cheeses, white meats and lean fish dishes.
Where it comes from
The grapes grow in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, on gravelly soil characterised by sandstone marls and alluvial sediments. This particular soil composition promotes a marked precision of flavour and a pleasant smoothness, elegantly defining the rosé character of the wine. The influence of the terroir results in a clean and immediate stylistic profile, focused on freshness and the balance of each component.
How it is produced
After harvesting at optimal ripeness and gentle pressing, white vinification is carried out followed by fermentation in steel tanks. The sparkling process takes place according to the principles of the Charmat Method. At the end of maturation, the wine undergoes careful dealcoholisation at room temperature: this process allows the removal of the alcoholic component while preserving the colour, structure and rich aromatic bouquet intact before bottling.
History and Curiosities
Originating from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Spumante Opale Rosé by Franc Lizer celebrates tradition by offering an authentic zero-alcohol tasting experience. Made from Glera and Merlot grapes grown on gravelly and marl soils, this sparkling wine is produced using the Charmat method. The innovative Italian system of dealcoholisation at room temperature allows the alcohol to be removed while preserving the coral pink colour, structure, and aromatic bouquet. A refined and innovative label, capable of evolving beautifully in the cellar for three to five years.
